Arnold Hanish
 Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer 
Eli Lilly and Company

  
Arnold C. Hanish joined Eli Lilly and Company as manager of domestic tax operations in 1984. In 1987, he moved into a financial reporting role and was appointed chief accounting officer in 1994.  He is currently vice president of finance and chief accounting officer.  Hanish is responsible for the global accounting process, including    Sarbanes-Oxley, as well as the U.S. payroll, shareholder and stock option services, and business partner support for corporate staff functions, and consulting on business development activities such as M&A and in- and out-license of compound technologies.

Prior to joining Lilly, Hanish was with Arthur Young & Company (currently Ernst & Young) for nearly 14 year in several capacities in Cincinnati and Indianapolis, the last of which was director of tax in the firm’s Indianapolis office.

From 1999 to 2001, Hanish served on an AICPA Task Force that resulted in the publication of a white paper on “Accounting for In-process Research and Development Expenses.”  He is currently vice-chairperson of the Financial Executive’s International – Committee on Corporate Reporting.  He also serves on the FEI-SEC and FEI-PCAOB subcommittees.  Hanish was a member of the Standing Advisory Group of the PCAOB from 2004 to 2008.  He is currently chairman of the Dues and Assessments Committee at Congregation Beth-El Zedeck as well as Treasurer of the Beth-El Zedeck Foundation.  He is also a past president of the board of directors of the Indianapolis Opera Company and its Foundation as well as past chair of the Audit Committee of the United Way of Indianapolis.  He was included in Treasury & Risk’s 2008 article of the “100 Most Influential People in Finance.”  Hanish has been
recognized by Business Finance in their articles entitled “Influencers 2007:  Transparency Changes Everything,” “2006’s Influencers: 60 Authoritative Voices,” and “2005’s 50 Worth Watching Influencers.”

A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from the University of Cincinnati in 1970.  He is a member of the Indiana CPA Society, the Ohio Society of CPA’s, and the AICPA.
  

 

  

David B. Wyshner

David B. Wyshner is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Avis Budget Group, Inc.  He is responsible for all company finance functions, as well as for Avis Budget’s information technology and public relations departments.  Previously, Mr. Wyshner was executive vice president and treasurer of Cendant Corporation, Avis Budget’s predecessor company, where he played a key role in the 2006 separation of Cendant into four independent companies.  Mr. Wyshner joined Cendant in 1999 and, before being appointed treasurer, served as Cendant’s executive vice president for finance, planning and development.  Prior to joining Cendant, he worked in Merrill Lynch & Co.’s investment banking division.  Mr. Wyshner received his B.A. from Yale University and his M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

David Wyss
Chief Economist
Standard & Poor's

David Wyss is the chief economist at Standard & Poor’s, based in New York.  In this position, he is responsible for S&P’s economic forecasts and publications, and co-authors the monthly Equity Insight and the weekly Financial Notes.  David joined Data Resources, Inc. in 1979 as an economist in the European Economic Service in London, which was acquired by McGraw-Hill.  He came back to the United States in 1983 as Chief Financial Economist for DRI/McGraw-Hill, became chief economist for Standard & Poor’s DRI in 1992, and chief economist for Standard & Poor’s in 1999. 

Before joining DRI, Dr. Wyss was a Senior Staff Economist with the President’s Council of Economic Advisers, Senior Economist at the Federal Reserve Board, and Economic Advisor to the Bank of England.

David holds a B.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University. David testifies regularly before Congress, is quoted regularly in the press, and has appeared on many major television programs.  He has written many articles for popular and professional publications.
